Cairngorm Group Signs the Young Person's Guarantee
Wednesday, 27th October 2021
We are thrilled that Cairngorm Group has signed the Young Person’s Guarantee (YPG)!
Cairngorm Group is a leading employer in the Scottish Highlands, specialising in the installation of windows, kitchens, conservatories and solar panels. By signing the YPG, they have pledged to support young people in the workplace, creating opportunities and offering training through both traditional and modern apprenticeships to school leavers.
Chris Dowling, director of Cairngorm Group and chairman of DYWICH, said: “By signing up to the Young Person’s Guarantee, we’re not only supporting young people in our local community – but we’re also safeguarding the future of our industry by ensuring that the Highlands is producing world-class tradespeople of the future.”
Following the pandemic, many industries across the Highlands are facing staff shortages and the Young Person’s Guarantee offers a manageable structure for businesses to interact with and develop young people, preparing them for work. Even offering a work experience placement or a Summer job can offer young people the opportunity to begin a successful career.
Chris Dowling further added: “Whatever level of support a business can provide, it could prove to be life changing for the young people involved.”
