What attracted you to the industry you are in?

Always strong numerically and a junior position became available just before I was planning going to University!

Santander – 15 years, CYBG 13 years

Describe your day-to-day role;

I manage 21 Branches from Lerwick to Berwick on Tweed, with responsibility for 183 people, the main part of my job is to help others be great at theirs!

It’s a wonderful place to live, and with modern technology location shouldn’t hinder, transport links though could be better!

Banking is no longer about managing numbers its about developing people

Every day is different!

No! Happened by accident but so glad it did

Find something you love, then its not a job and most days you can really enjoy

What is your career goal?

To make a difference to all that work with me and hopefully help them enhance their lives

How does it feel to be a KeyWorker on the frontline, supporting the Country’s fight against Covid-19?

I'm now working from home but have such respect for my team on the front line, who are their daily to help, all I try to do is to coach and help them

Making a difference! That may be through mortgage payment holidays, business lending, overdraft needs – all these things just now are so important as peoples lives are changing
