DYW Operations Manager - Job Description

Purpose -

Manage the operational delivery of the Developing Young Workforce (DYW) programme within the Inverness & Central Highlands.

Main Accountabilities

The focus of the role is to develop and deliver the DYW agenda and objectives of the Regional and National employer led DYW group, with particular emphasis on the DYW programme within schools, employer and stakeholder engagement, and promotional events.

Key Work Areas

  • Manage and deliver the core activities and various work streams of the DYW operational team, monitoring and reporting on group objectives, and key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Support and manage the DYW School Coordinators in their role of delivering the DYW agenda within schools in conjunction with the DYW operational team and school management.
  • Liaise and support key employers and stakeholders to engage effectively with the DYW agenda and education across the regional group area and H&I territory.
  • Actively raise awareness and promote the work of the DYW team and school co-ordinators using a range of marketing tools and media.

Target Objectives or Tasks:

  • Develop and implement various work streams in conjunction with the Regional board.
  • Represent the Developing the Young Workforce programme at relevant forums.
  • Deliver the group objectives, KPI’s & activity to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Undertake regular review and evaluation of programmes and activities associated with DYW
  • Connect with key stakeholders and other regional groups across the Highlands & Islands territory
  • Any other duties as directed by Programme Manager.

Key Work Area:

Support and manage the DYW School Coordinators in their role of delivering the DYW agenda within schools in conjunction with the DYW operational team and school management.

Target Objectives or Tasks:

  • Line manage School Coordinators in accordance with Inverness Chamber of Commerce and DYW Programme requirements.
  • Liaise with school senior management teams to ensure School Coordinator programme is implemented in accordance with Scottish Government DYW Programme
  • Manage and monitor all DYW programme reporting in accordance with SG School Coordinator standards. Develop and manage ongoing training and personal/team development of School Co-ordinator network

Key Work Area:

Liaise and support key employers and stakeholders to engage effectively with the DYW agenda and education across the regional group area and H&I territory.

Target Objectives or Tasks:

  • Liaise and network with local, regional and national employers with a view to increase the number of businesses actively working with the DYW programme.
  • Increase the number of businesses working directly with the school to improve opportunities for young people

Key Work Area:

Actively raise awareness and promote the work of the DYW team and school co-ordinators using a range of marketing tools and media.

Target Objectives or Tasks:

  • Manage, review and update the DYW Communications strategy, including marketing strategy.
  • Manage, maintain and develop the DYW Inverness & Central Highland website in order to promote the work of the DYW programme.
  • Create content and case studies to raise awareness of the Developing the Young Workforce & its key aims and objectives.
  • Manage the publicity and marketing of DYW events.

💴Salary: £28,000

Hours: Monday to Friday - Flexible working maybe required

📖Contract type: Full time .The position is 3-year fixed term, renewed annually depending on funding and subject to satisfactory performance.
